Narrow alley linking Black Lion Street with Ship Street, the three tile hung cottages on the southern side are possibly the oldest buildings in Brighton dating from the 17th century. Just visible at the end of the alley is the junction with Ship Street and the continuation of another alley, Ship Street Gardens.
