Ryder's Green Junction is the parting of the ways as the Walsall Canal disappears away to the left down the eight lock Ryder's Green flight. The Wednesbury Old Canal was built by James Brindley opening in 1769. The Walsall Canal opened in 1786. The Wednesbury Old Canal terminates at the Black Country Spine Road leaving the unconnected Ridgeacre Branch.
