Looking east, the Glasgow-Gourock & Wemyss Bay railway line and Parklea playing fields are to the left. The existing A8 dual carriageway is out of sight to the right. This part of the old road is now a lay-by, used by Network Rail. It was recently fenced off and gated to prevent fly-tipping which used to happen here on a large scale.
