Irrespective of the malaise (or blight) affecting Lower North Street it does have two examples of (vaguely) Art Deco architecture. The dated drainpipe (left) is on no 15 while no 17 has this ornate column and a fancy window to boot. The former Sinclair’s department store Image (from the same era) is at the other end of the street.
