The station dates from 1848 when it became an intermediate stop on the line to Windsor built by the Windsor, Staines and South Western Railway. This line was rapidly taken over by the London & South Western Railway. The station was substantially rebuilt in 1999. The old station buildings are still present on the left. On the right is the Lidl supermarket on the site of the former railway station sidings. This view was taken from the A244 Hounslow Road bridge.
