Some fields have survived as open space between the houses on Arden Drive (in the background), Hawkins Avenue, and the buildings of the Torquay grammar schools, which now include the former Shiphay Manor. Popular with dog-walkers. Taken from the footpath which connects Hawkins Avenue to Shiphay Manor Drive. Update: The field survives no longer, or only a fragment of it, together with the largest tree, a beech, shown in Image It is now Raleigh Close.
