This long row of tall conifers is prominent on aerial mapping, which shows it to be about 250m long. It appears to have been planted as a windbreak, possibly to shelter the A20 from snowdrifts in northerly winds: it is several hundred metres from the properties along Pett Lane to the north, and therefore of no use in sheltering them.
