The delivery bay for the Ayrton & Saunders warehouse is protected by vertical cast iron posts and a heavy horizontal beam of wood. Dr Ayrton and Mr Saunders set up their pharmaceutical company in 1868 and it was only sold in 1998. The old warehouse is surrounded by modern development.
