Site of the chain ferry at Hampton Loade, sadly out of commission since the devastating floods of 2007 and up for sale. The yellow notice talks about a meeting organised by the local Bridgnorth MP, Philip Dunne, to see if a group of volunteers would run the ferry. Subsequently, a committee was set up to try and create a charitable trust to re-open the service, which has existed on this spot for several hundred years.
