"In 1997, it was decided that the best way forward would be to demolish the old St. Luke church in the main street and build a modern church on the site for all the people of the town. The new church was opened in September 2002. The basic shape has six equal sides with a large raised sanctuary area which can also be used to accommodate large choirs and theatrical productions. The high domed glass ceiling above reflects natural light down onto it. The font was rescued from Holy Trinity* and restored. There is also a baptistry.
