The largest brownfield development being undertaken in Brighton at the moment. The land was originally part of Brighton locomotive works and goods yard. The former opened in 1850 and closed in 1957 before briefly being converted to a factory for the production of Isetta bubble cars which lasted until 1964. The buildings were demolished in 1969 and the land became a giant car park which it remained until 2003 when the new development started. The buildings in view are the completed Jurys Inn hotel to the left and the scaffolded, unfinished apartment block to be known as One Brighton. The pathway is designed to link Stroudley Road, Brighton station's new access road with itself lower down near to the junction with Fleet Street.
