This large pub is in a prominent position on the corner of Stourport Road and Walter Nash Road East, on the edge of the large Birchen Coppice Estate. It is surprising that this appears to be the only pub in Kidderminster which has a name linked with the town's famous carpet industry. For a while the pub followed the fashion for giving pubs strange names and it was known as The Poacher's Pocket. But a few years ago the name reverted to the Loom & Shuttle. The carpet industry, although much reduced in size, still operates in the town, so It is nice that it should be acknowledged in the pub's name.
