This Elizabeth II-reign postbox stands outside a small row of shops in Queen’s Road and is emptied finally at 5:30pm on weekdays and at noon on Saturdays. There was a post office in Queen’s Road from the 1910s but it closed around the Second World War. It would have been in one of these shops but not necessarily the one that the box stands directly outside, because obviously an E-II-R box would not have been there then!
