Highcliffe, fingerpost

Image: © Mike Faherty Taken: 10 Jan 2009

Traditional Hampshire cast-iron fingerpost at the junction Lymington Road & Hinton Wood Avenue; tapering pillar, ring finial with legend "HAMPSHIRE HIGHCLIFFE". Readers with an eye for accuracy will note that Highcliffe has been in Christchurch since 1974, hence in Dorset; Highways have generously disregarded this, and maintained this post well. Four other similar posts remain in Christchurch District.
