I remember it opening (in Newry Street) – the local paper put it as 1965. Before then the nearest Woolworth’s were in Newry and Portadown or far-flung Belfast. Until it opened the only “big” names in the town were “Stewarts Cash Stores” and the “Home and Colonial”. Definitely the end of an era. Continue to Image
