Actually neither of these roads is the Roman Ermin Way. That lies to the right. The house is now on a cul-de-sac; the section in front of me used to cross the Ermin Way, but that junction was blocked off when it was made a dual-carriageway. The house, a lovely Cotswold stone house, also looked deserted.
