Closed in 1997, all "operations" transferred to New Cross hospital. All sorts of wrangles and delays have occurred between Tesco, who wanted to develop the site with a huge supermarket and other facilities, and Wolverhampton Council, also involving another supermarket. Now, with the "credit crunch" upon us, and property values sharply lower, one wonders whether further delays will now take place. The image shows the main entrance in Cleveland Road.
