These premises on Oxford Street near junction with Clarendon Avenue are the site of the original Oxford Cafe, a well known local meeting spot. In 1956 the business transferred to premises round the corner on the other side of Clarendon Avenue Image where it continues to this day as the Oxford. The old premises, as can be seen from the picture have been extended and converted into a trendy bar which has traded under a variety of names over the years.
