The River Leven, in spate after several days of heavy rain, roars over the weir situated immediately below the Penstock pipes supplying the small Hydro-Electric generating station at the former Fettykil Paper Mill, Leslie. In summertime the River is all but dry at this point, with the main flow of water passing along the lade and passing through the power station.
