Dunchurch stands on the former coaching route between London and Holyhead. The stone shows distances to both locations on its north facing side. The former coaching inn, the Dun Cow stands on the far side of the road. The milestone was added to an existing medieval market cross in 1813 and was restored in 1953. The complete structure is grade II listed
