Icicles in the Forest

Image: © Marion Phillips Taken: 31 Dec 2008

This is the Forest of Nantygronw planted by the Forestry Commission with mixed hardwood and softwood trees. A forest track has been cut out of the slope with a ditch beside it. Water oozing out of the stand of trees above has frozen into icicles. It is mid afternoon in December and the sun will not get round far enough to shine on the icicles and thaw them. I could not find the tumuli marked on the map near here.
