Birchwood Road contains some of the largest and most expensive properties in Petts Wood. This is no.10. This large house, built in around 1930, received bomb damage during the second world war. In 1946 it was purchased by a Dr Rex Carpenter, and after restoration it housed his medical practice until his retirement in 1978, after which the practice moved to nearby Tudor Way. It is now a private house.
