The station was moved from the marshes up to higher ground due to the need to construct an underground bunker. It was opened in 1955 and closed in the early 1970s. More information and extensive pictures of the bunker can be found at http://www.subbrit.org .This view looks south from the footpath. The sea at Normans Bay can be seen in the distance.
