This store is scheduled to close on the 30th December 2008, but as most of the shelves were empty on the previous day, it would probably be pointless to stay open any longer. Unfortunately this famous company got into severe financial difficulties, ending in it going into administration. This particular store is in an indoor shopping centre called Ryemarket. This along with most of Stourbridge's main shopping streets are on an "island" surrounded by a one-way three lane ring road, which can be terrifying to negotiate at busy periods. The photograph had to be taken quickly both because of the location and the continuous pedestrian traffic outside the store. The Christmas decorations are hanging above the store's windows and entrance doors, adding a poignant touch to the scene.
