St John Boste Church, Oxclose, Washington

Image: © Oliver Dixon Taken: 25 Dec 2008

St John Boste was one of the forty Martyrs of England and Wales, a Catholic priest who was hanged, drawn and quartered for his faith at Durham in 1594 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Boste. Like many modern Catholic churches, this church is an interesting and attractive example of modern architecture set in a green space in the Washington neighbourhood of Oxclose http://rcdhn.org.uk/churches07/churchcontact.php?chid=285 . Photographed at noon on Christmas Day, 2008 (outwith the times of Mass).
