The Ridgeway/Upper Icknield Way is one of the oldest tracks in Britain, dating back some 6000 years. Swan’s Way, a long distance bridle route, follows its line here. In the hedge to the left is the route of the Princes Risborough to Watlington branch railway that operated from 1872 to 1957.
