Chesterfield Villas

In Prince of Wales Road. In 1747 the site was owned by Cromer Hall estate. Chesterfield House (now Chesterfield Lodge) and Villas were designed by architect David Brandon RIBA (1813-1897) and built for Benjamin Bond Cabbell of Cromer Hall in 1879. The property is named after the Bond Cabbell's London home No 1, Chesterfield Gardens, just off Park Lane, Westminster, W1J. Chesterfield Lodge, Villas and Chesterfield Cottages and North and South Lodges to Cromer Hall were all built at the same time in a style that is known as cottage ornee.
