This new fountain was constructed during the spring of 2008. Sir Llewelyn Turner was the mayor of Caernarfon at the time of the 1860s cholera outbreak. He initiated a programme of improvements, including the piping in of clean water from Llyn Cwellyn and the clearance of some of the town's worst slums.
