Before there was a post office in this road, it was located further away in Milton Road, but that was many years ago. Today this office serves the many professional offices and shops in Commercial Road and the streets off, as well as local residents. It's good news that it wasn't threatened by the latest round of closures, but perhaps a little surprising as the main post office is fairly nearby. Meanwhile much used post offices at Lawn and Cheney Manor will close.
