Before the motorways were built, the A560 was the main route from Stockport to Yorkshire. A few miles past Gee Cross it joins the A57/A628 at Mottram in Longdendale. The traffic lights in the near distance are at the entrance to Alder Community School Image Before the school was built there was a row of mature trees behind the stone wall.
