Passengers taking a return trip between one of Cardross, Craigendoran or Helensburgh and one of Renton, Alexandria and Balloch will find themselves crossing this footbridge in the same direction to change trains during both the outward and return legs of their journey. Trains destined for Helensburgh take the left branch and trains for Balloch take the right branch at the junction just beyond the footbridge.
