Woolworths, 45 Kirkgate. A rather grand previous store,http://www.twixtaireandcalder.org.uk/WakefieldCMS/Pages/TAandC/ImageView.aspx?source=l05739&thumbnail=False was replaced by this modern featureless building in 1956. The administrators of the 99yr old company are slashing prices to generate cash for creditors and offload unsold stock, hence the 50% off notices in the windows.
