Newtown: trolley siding

Newtown station is a passing loop on the single-track Mid-Wales line. A Supersprinter unit is seen leaving for Aberystwyth/Pwllheli (to split at Machynlleth). There is also a bay platform to the left of the photographer, and a short siding at the left of the photo, shown on a railway track diagram as a "trolley siding" (presumably for a permanent-way maintenance trolley).
