24’ x 1’ 6” external overshot waterwheel, say. Cast by ironfounders ‘W Visick & Sons Devoran 1923’. A late and elegant waterwheel – noted the dished arms, narrower at the buckets than at the axle. Probably used to pump water to Carclew House, home of a branch of the Tremayne family, but destroyed by fire later in the century. Another branch of the family was at Heligan
