This was originally a nursing home. A plaque reads ‘Queen Victoria’s Jubilee Institute for Nurses. Founded 1897’. The Institute's aim was to provide nursing care to the poor and sick of Reading. Now it is occupied by the Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust and is, I assume, used as offices. The house in the background is on Alexandra Road.
