This is one of four Pictish stones at Aberlemno dating from the 7th-8th century. This one stands 8 feet high and the face shown here is carved in relief with kneeling angels & animals flanking the shaft of wheel cross. The back has carvings of Pictish symbols Z-rod & crescent & V-rod in addition to some tracery. The other 3 stones are equally impressive.
