Belfry School, Cromer Road, Overstrand

This school was founded in 1830 by Miss Anna Gurney and Miss Sarah Buxton and originally met in the belfry of the church, so the date '1830' in the gable might not be the year in which the old part of the school was built. It was evidently much enlarged in the late 19C, and is still in use as a primary school, supplemented by various temporary buildings.
