The Stepney hotel was once one of Llanelli's finest buildings and most prodigious hotels. Time hasn't been kind to the Stepney and the last few years saw dereliction rapidly take over. Despite many locals appealing for its renovation due to its historic importance, demolition was approved. The final death blow came this morning when the demolition finally started and within 8 hours, one entire wing was already gone. The already full skip next to the digger is actually full of crushed furniture - much of the fittings and furnishings were still in the rooms as they fell. The picture was a 5 second exposure, taken entirely using street lighting.
