Now officially "The University Hospital, Aintree". it is still known as Fazakerley Hospital by the local people. Fazakerley was opened in 1902 to cope with the growing population as Liverpool spread outwards. Additional buildings were erected throughout the 20th century, this is the "ward block" which was part of the new development in the 1960s. Photograph taken from the new road which leads to Altcourse Prison.
