The building on the left at 460 Sauchiehall Street was originally built as the Beresford Hotel for the Empire Exhibition in Glasgow in 1938. It was converted into an office block for some years. In the 1960s it became a hall of residence for Strathclyde University and was called "Baird Hall". In 2003 it was sold to developers and has been reconverted into private apartments and reverted back to being the Beresford. A recent photo is on Glasgow Daily Photo at http://glasgowdailyphoto.wordpress.com/2008/01/14/beresford/
