The first shoots of autumn-sown wheat were just showing in the apparently bare field on the hillside. The wood and hill are named after a young servant girl at Ledston Hall who was accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake on the hill in 1603. http://www.sephirothsupplies.co.uk/witches.html
