Historic Inn at Saltfleet with 17th century origins and numerous tales about smugglers in the 17th and 18th centuries. Under cover of darkness, 'Owlers' would smuggle wool out and tobacco, silk and spirits in, trying to avoid the Customs men. Once called The Dolphin, the New Inn is popular with drinkers and diners, locals and holidaymakers.
