The Rubbing House is one of three pubs to overlook the downs, although it is now mainly a large restaurant. To the left is Racecourse Cottage, and occupying the left side is the Holiday Inn Express at Epsom Downs, opened in late 2008. A horse rider is visible just below the Rubbing House, exiting the hack area out onto Walton Road.
