Here Carman's Lane emerges onto a narrow section of road, the eastern part of which is called Chapel Road; the continuation in westerly direction is a private road (seen here) leading past Carman's Lane Belt > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1044938 to a sawmill. Carman's Lane appears to be an ancient path, now a public bridleway, which follows a field boundary marked by an outgrown hedge > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1044890 and a dilapidated fence (seen in the foreground), which presently is adorned with autumnal foliage that has become stuck in the wire mesh. The lane turns off Worstead Road by Elbow Belt, a strip of woodland which also grows beside a section of the road > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1044791. A public footpath leads north on the other side of Worstead Road > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1044769 whereas Carman's Lane > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1044881 leads south, following the woodland edge and emerging where Chapel Road ends and a private road starts.
