Now a public footpath, this old mineral railway was one of an extensive network, along with connecting tramways, that joined the many coal pits, brickworks, quarries and chemical works in the area. Along with a tramway further west, this is currently being opened out and cleared of invading vegetation. It led eastwards to the Broughton Moor Fire Brick Works.
