Treddolphin is a large mixed farm. In July 1964 it was the scene of the demise of Vulcan XA 909 which, fortunately, had been abandoned safely by its 5 man crew following an explosion in the engine bay. The co-pilot, Fg Off C M Woods, who, with the pilot, had got the plane on course towards the sea, and having successively ejected, was amazed to see the Vulcan turning of its own accord and heading back inland where it crashed at Treddolphin Farm, barely a mile from the village of Gwalchmai.
