Adding extra housing amongst the existing buildings is a common practice in Cambridge. While the housing market was buoyant this was an easy way of making money. Now house sales have fallen, it may not be such an enticing proposition. The cumulative effect on drainage and demand for services is hard to monitor from lots of small developments.
