Looking down the main village street with South Lane leaving to the right and the lane to Bury just beyond to the left. The cottages are former estate cottages which have either been converted into one residence or both moved their doors to the rear of the buildings as both are filled in this side. The village itself is quite ancient having been mentioned as early as 683 in a Saxon charter.
