The Granite Way runs between Okehampton and Lydford and here follows the route of the former London & South Western Railway's line between Tavistock and Okehampton. Opened in 1874 the railway was closed in 1968. The Granite Way also here forms a section of the National Cycle Network Route 27, the Devon Coast to Coast route.
