Fire Damage at Carleton High School

During the early hours of 18th October, 2008, an outbreak of fire was discovered at Carleton High School, Pontefract. The central part of the school, comprising of the admin block, the dining hall, assembly hall and the old gymnasium were gutted, although firemen were able to save some of the teaching blocks and the new gymnasium. Damage is reputed to be around £11,000,000.
